The list of foods I eat I know food tastes great, and experiencing a new dish, making something for the first time at home, or eating the cuisine of a specific culture can all be considered memorable life experiences. Unfortunately for me, I still desire to experience new things, but I have tried enough, that in general I am more concerned about the quality of what I am eating for the body then simply the taste. In moderation I make exceptions, but in general I prefer very basic eating. I find little interest in fattening dishes, or deep fried food, or sweets, despite how good they may taste as I prefer limiting saturated fats, and calories that the body doesnt need.
For me I dont feel deprived, like I am missing out or denying myself anything.
People ask me all the time. How I do it, as I have kept a fairly strict diet, removing excessive/unnecessary unhealthy foods that most people find to taste good. Honestly when your mentality no longer finds it appealing, it doesnt feel like work at all.
For me the biggest factor is that it comes down to time. I am not particularly lazy but I do value my time. A common delicious chocolate dessert may have between 500-1000 calories. To burn that off would take a substantial amount of physical activity. Perhaps several hours of walking/jogging/or swimming. The trade off in pleasure of eating a chocolate cake, doesnt justify in my mind the lack of enjoyment from spending several hours in the gym to burn it off. I enjoy working out and exercising on occasion, I am not against it. However, it seems like a contradiction to me people that eat obviously bad food then work, it just seems like its working against yourself.
